We have had a Small Water Garden for maybe 7 years now. It is located in our front yard in a planter that we had as the result of cutting down a huge tree. We have added to it and modified it yearly but the next thing we are going to do is make it the whole space of the planter.
We have had an Owl that visits the pond to fish every once in a while....enjoy the pictures as the time goes on.

August 1, 2004 A Barred Owl visited our pond and has feasted on our fish every
year since. They are protected and therefore, we have to put up with the
Owls....yes there are more than one now! (grin) I went right outside while he
sat there and took his picture. They aren't afraid of us...but the talon's are
huge so I am watchful of them.
January 2005 We run the pond year round.

August 2007 with lots of Water Lettuce and plenty of weed in the planter due
to my broken finger and not being a
able to weed. (grin)
August 2007 with my Sensitive Fern which closes up at night like a Mimosa
Tree. It is supposed to have little
Yellow flowers on it. I just got it and it is growing very well....it is also
under the aligator. There are some lily pads
in there somewhere.....the water lettuce is taking over. Enjoy and check back
